About GCEE 2019

The 2nd International Conference on Green Civil and Environmental Engineering (GCEE 2019) was successfully conducted from 4 to 6 September 2019 at Atria Hotel Malang, Indonesia. This year’s theme, “Discovering Innovative and Environmentally-sound Construction for Sustainable Living,” brought together professionals, researchers, and academics from across the globe.

Organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Malang, the conference served as a collaborative platform to exchange ideas and present cutting-edge research on sustainable civil and environmental engineering practices.

Keynote Speakers

GCEE 2019 featured prominent keynote speakers who shared valuable insights on green technologies and sustainable practices:

2. Prof. dr. ir. Diederik Rousseau – Ghent University, Belgium

3. Prof. Hsieh-Lung Hsu – National Central University, Taiwan

4. Assoc. Prof. Januarti Jaya Ekaputri – Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember, Indonesia

5. Apif Miftahul Hajj, Ph.D – Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia

Conference Topics

The conference covered a wide range of pressing topics, including:

Publication and Peer Review

All submitted papers underwent a rigorous blind review process by at least two reviewers. Accepted papers were published in the IOP Conference Series: Materials Science and Engineering (indexed by Scopus). Selected works were also considered for publication in the national-accredited journal “Civil Engineering Dimension.”

Participants and Engagement

The conference welcomed both international and domestic participants, including researchers, students, and practitioners. Aside from academic sessions, the conference also offered a free Bromo Sunrise Tour, encouraging international collaboration and cultural exchange.

The success of GCEE 2019 further established it as a vital international forum for advancing environmentally conscious engineering solutions.
