About GCEE 2021

The Department of Civil Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), successfully organized The 3rd International Conference on Green Civil and Environmental Engineering (GCEE 2021). Held virtually on August 12, 2021, the event brought together scholars, researchers, and professionals from around the globe to share insights and innovations in sustainable civil and environmental engineering.

The conference featured four distinguished keynote speakers, including:

• Dr. Mohd Syahrul Hisyam Mohd Sani (Universiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia)

• Prof. Dr. Nuriye Altinay Perendeci (Akdeniz University, Turkey)

• Dr. Ir. Henri Siswanto, MT (Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia)

• Ta-Chih, Hsiao, Ph.D (National Taiwan University, Taiwan)

These experts presented cutting-edge research and case studies addressing global challenges in infrastructure development, environmental protection, and green technology.

The conference covered a wide range of topics, including:

• Sustainable construction, transportation, and cities

• Waste treatment and renewable energy

• Green building materials and disaster-resilient design

• Water and wastewater management

• GIS applications and forensic engineering

• Occupational safety in construction and infrastructure rehabilitation

One of the major highlights of the event was the announcement that all accepted papers published in Scopus-indexed proceedings, in collaboration with IOP Publishing.

GCEE 2021 was not only a platform for academic exchange but also a strong demonstration of UM’s commitment to promoting sustainable engineering solutions and fostering global collaboration.
